First statement from the Kremlin regarding the Putin-Trump meeting

Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov made assessments regarding the meeting held yesterday between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, which lasted approximately 1 hour. Stating that Putin had conveyed his proposals for resolving the ongoing crisis in Iran to Trump, Peskov said, "We do not have the opportunity to provide a detailed explanation at this moment, nor do we have such an intention. The President (Putin) has conveyed these proposals to his counterpart (Trump). We will see how the process proceeds."

EMPHASIS ON MEDIATION

Noting that Putin had drawn attention to diplomatic initiatives even before the tension began, Peskov said, "From the very beginning of this situation, even before the attacks started, Putin had proposed various options that could help with mediation and de-escalation. Most of these proposals are still on the table. Russia is ready to facilitate the peace process."

RESPONSE TO INTELLIGENCE ALLEGATIONS

Addressing allegations that Russia is providing intelligence to Iran, Peskov responded to questions on the subject by stating, "We are not commenting on this matter in any way."
