First statement from Ümit Özdağ after visiting İmamoğlu! 'Mayor Ekrem is making a call...'

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ visited Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and Republican People's Party presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is being held at the Marmara Prison in Silivri. Following the visit, Özdağ shared with the press İmamoğlu's request for the removal of the ban on his audio and video recordings.

In his statement after the meeting, Özdağ mentioned the positive approaches expressed by Nationalist Movement Party Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding the live broadcasting of İmamoğlu's trial process on TRT. However, he noted that the embargo on İmamoğlu's audio and video remains in place.

Özdağ said, "Mayor Ekrem is making a call. As a person who has not yet been found guilty and is in the trial phase, he possesses constitutional rights. Therefore, he is demanding the removal of the audio and video ban. This demand is extremely justified, and we support him on this matter".

Özdağ emphasized that İmamoğlu's demand for the removal of the audio and video ban should be announced to the public and supported. Stating that İmamoğlu should have a fair trial process, Özdağ expressed that this demand is a legitimate request.
