Flash move from AKP to win Istanbul! 'One week before the election...'

As we head toward the local elections, Istanbul remains one of the cities where the outcome is most anticipated.

While the race in Istanbul is expected to be between the People's Alliance candidate Murat Kurum and the CHP candidate, incumbent IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, a striking claim has emerged.

According to a report by Nagihan Yılkın from Cumhuriyet; while the discomfort of a group of AKP members regarding Murat Kurum's performance continues to be discussed, it was stated in political circles that the party has prepared different strategies to win the election and will implement them depending on developments.

It has been alleged that the AKP, which is pushing with all its might to reclaim Istanbul—a city it lost in 2019—will "make every kind of attempt and has prepared different strategies" one week before the election.

On the other hand, some party strategists believe that the "pro-Reis team," which they describe as a "rent-seeking group," was responsible for losing the election in 2019. Stating that the same team is active again, these AKP members assess that "this team could cause the election to be lost on the evening of March 31 by engaging in 'all sorts of schemes'."
