A windfall of Treasury aid for political parties! Here is the amount 5 parties will receive...
With the 2026 budget, the amount of Treasury aid to be transferred to political parties has been finalized. Payments will be made to parties that passed the electoral threshold in the last parliamentary general election, in proportion to the percentage of votes they received. In this context, billions of liras in funding will be transferred to 5 political parties. The largest share has been allocated to the AKP, which holds the most seats in Parliament.
With the 2026 budget approved by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), the amount of Treasury aid to be provided to political parties has been determined.
Five parties that passed the threshold in the last general elections and are represented in parliament will be provided with billions of liras in support, based on their vote shares.
Accordingly, the AKP, which holds the majority of seats in Parliament, will receive the highest amount of aid from the Treasury.
IT WILL INCREASE FURTHER IF THERE IS AN ELECTION
Treasury aid provided to political parties in Turkey is calculated by taking into account the vote shares obtained in the last parliamentary general elections. According to legal regulations, payments are made to parties that pass the threshold from the central government budget every year.
While this amount remains more limited in years without elections, it is paid with increases in line with determined coefficients during election years.
2026 AID AMOUNTS
The Treasury aid projected to be provided to political parties in 2026 has been determined as follows:
DEM Party: 500 million TL
İYİ Party: 550 million TL
MHP: 600 million TL
CHP: 1.5 billion TL
AKP: 2.5 billion TL
These determined amounts were calculated based on the vote shares the parties received in the 2023 general elections. Furthermore, it is stated that if a decision for an early election is taken within 2026, the aid in question could increase up to double the amount.
