AKP's decision for the upcoming mayoral election in Manisa has been announced! Will they field a candidate?

Following the sudden death of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, the AKP will not field a candidate in the upcoming mayoral election to be held in the Manisa Metropolitan Municipal Council.

AKP Manisa Provincial Chairman Süleyman Turgut expressed their deep sorrow over Zeyrek's passing and stated, "We would like to share with the public that in this election, where we will not be fielding a candidate, we will respect the candidate to be put forward by the Republican People's Party."

A JOINT DECISION WAS REACHED

Wishing God's mercy upon Zeyrek and extending his condolences to his family, loved ones, and the Republican People's Party community, Turgut noted the following:

"In line with the joint decision we have taken with the AK Party Manisa organization, our deputies, mayors, and council members, we have decided not to field a candidate in the mayoral election to be held in the Manisa Metropolitan Municipal Council. We would like to share with the public that in this election, where we will not be fielding a candidate, we will respect the candidate to be put forward by the Republican People's Party. This stance of ours is a manifestation of our belief in the will expressed by the people of Manisa and our understanding that views politics as a race to serve the nation rather than just competition. Whoever the newly elected mayor may be, just as it was during Mayor Ferdi's term, we will continue to say 'yes' to every project and service that will be for the benefit of our Manisa and our fellow citizens."
