Behind the scenes: Erdoğan's praise for DEM Party: 'He was very pleased'

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with his staff at his party's Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting to evaluate the current state of the fight against terrorism.

It was claimed that during the meeting, he gave important messages regarding the process aimed at ending terrorism and viewed the work of the DEM Party's Imralı delegation positively.

'WE WILL DISRUPT IMPERIALIST GAMES'

According to a report by Sabah Newspaper, Erdoğan used the following expressions at the meeting:

“We drew the framework for this process, which we call a Turkey without terrorism, at the congresses in Şanlıurfa and Diyarbakır. A very broad consensus has formed among political parties. Terrorism and politics will not coexist in the same vessel. We will disrupt the imperialist game that has been going on for half a century. We will never hurt the families of martyrs and veterans. We will take the initiatives that will end terrorism.”

PRAISE FOR DEM PARTY

It was claimed that President Erdoğan stated during the meeting that he found the process conducted by the DEM Party's Imralı delegation to be successful. It was reported that Erdoğan said, “The DEM Party delegation is managing the process well,” and evaluated the contacts made in this direction positively.

According to a report by Türkiye Newspaper, Erdoğan made the following assessments regarding the steps taken in the fight against terrorism at the meeting:

“In the Century of Turkey, we will rid our country of this scourge of terrorism and build the new century. We have taken very important steps to date regarding ending terrorism. We will not hesitate to take the necessary initiatives from now on. We are determined in our goal of a Turkey without terrorism.”

WHO IS ON THE DEM PARTY DELEGATION?

The DEM Party's Imralı delegation included members of parliament Sırrı Süreyya Önder, Pervin Buldan, and former Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Türk, who was replaced by a government-appointed trustee.
