Bülent Arınç slams pro-government media: A striking confession! This media made us the 2nd party

Bülent Arınç, one of the founding figures of the AKP, harshly criticized the media close to the government during a program he attended. Arınç stated that this media has put his party in a bad position and that the media played a major role in the AKP becoming the second party. He expressed that the figures in the media are merely engaging in wordplay and that they are causing great harm to the party.

"THESE ARE PATHETIC PEOPLE"

Bülent Arınç essentially tore into media members who portray themselves as close to the AKP. In a program he attended on journalist Hasan Basri Akdemir's YouTube channel, Arınç emphasized that these individuals have put the party in a difficult position, stating the following:

"The criticisms coming from the media close to our party are not even a mosquito bite. These are very pathetic people. I mean, they might be trying to show themselves as close to the AK Party, but those who cause the most harm to the AK Party are the people in this media who engage in wordplay. In my eyes, they are deserving of insults, nothing more, and their filling of television screens has reduced us to the status of the second party."

Arınç also harshly criticized the headline "fit as a fiddle" (turp gibi) used by the Yeni Akit newspaper regarding Beylikdüzü Mayor Murat Çalık. Accusing the newspaper of immorality, Arınç used the following expressions:

"There is a shameless newspaper. A newspaper devoid of morality and decency. Greed has blinded them. They threw a headline above the main headline. Let me say it here. Murat Çalık is not 'fit as a fiddle' or anything like that. I am visiting Murat Çalık; I have visited him."

Stating that he received criticism from some circles for visiting Çalık in the hospital, Arınç reacted to these criticisms:

"They think that I only went to visit Murat Çalık. I am not an economist, my brother, I am a lawyer. You should talk to me in the name of law."

Bülent Arınç stated that media members, by ostensibly standing close to the AK Party, actually put the party in a difficult spot and that these individuals only produce empty talk. Expressing that the party's bond with the public has weakened because of these people within the media, Arınç said, "They were only busy producing empty talk for our party and they reduced us to the status of the second party."
