Call from Tanju Özcan to Kılıçdaroğlu: He addressed him saying, 'I beg you...'

While the CHP awaits the 'absolute nullity' lawsuit filed regarding the November 2023 Convention, which is set to be heard on June 30, internal party tension is rising every day. A potential cancellation decision from the court could open the door to a new crisis within the CHP.

Former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has stated, "If an absolute nullity decision is issued, I will not hand the party over to a trustee; I will return," while current Chairman Özgür Özel views the possibility of such a decision as low.

HE SAID, "THERE IS A COUP ATTEMPT AGAINST THE CHP"

As the debates continue, CHP Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan made a notable statement. Criticizing Kılıçdaroğlu with harsh words, Özcan described the filed lawsuits as a "legal coup attempt":

"I am speaking openly. The two lawsuits filed in Ankara are a clear coup attempt against the CHP through legal means. Today, the CHP has reached 40 percent. Such moves are expected from the government, but it is unacceptable for people from within our own ranks, especially Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu and a handful of names, to provide indirect support to this attempt."

"THEY ARE TRYING TO STIR UP THE PARTY"

In the continuation of his statement, Özcan attacked Kılıçdaroğlu with even harsher expressions:

"Kılıçdaroğlu is trying to stir up the party. They have no support left at the grassroots level. But they still insistently and stubbornly make statements that provoke this process. This directly harms the party and the struggle of the opposition."

"I AM BEGGING YOU, YOU CAN DISMANTLE THIS TRAP WITH TWO SENTENCES"

Tanju Özcan issued another call to Kılıçdaroğlu:

"Even though I am hopeless, Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu can dismantle this trap with two sentences. As a brother, I am begging you. Before causing any more damage to this process, come out and clearly declare that you stand against the coup attempt. As someone who comes from within the CHP, you have to do this."

Özcan used the following expressions:

If an absolute nullity decision is made, if a trustee is appointed, or if it is said that the old administration should continue, and if Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu says 'I accept this duty,' he would become a partner to those attempting a coup. A political junta would have come to the CHP. It is impossible for us to accept this.

He will come out and say two lines. He will say, 'We are behind Mr. Özgür Özel and the administration'; that is what he needs to do, society expects this from him. Kılıçdaroğlu can break this big game. Instead of breaking this dirty game, he seems to have accepted being a part of it.

This is actually what is breaking our backs and demoralizing the social opposition. It could legally render it obsolete. The trap set by the government would also be neutralized.

If he acts clearly like an instrument of the ruling power, he will not be forgiven by society. People who have respected him until today will stop respecting him; he should not do this, I ask him as a brother.

We have struggled with Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu in a political sense, but we have not been disrespectful to his personality. Kılıçdaroğlu's attachment to his seat does not end.

Even though I am hopeless, Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu can eliminate this trap of the ruling power with two sentences. I am practically begging him as a brother.

Losing the presidential election is a failure. You lost this election when the government was at its weakest. We have been experiencing this process since January because Kılıçdaroğlu lost the election.
