Candidacy process in CHP: Özel and Yavaş met... What topics were discussed at the table?

After the process of determining a presidential candidate began within the CHP, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş had stated, "I am of the opinion that it is too early to determine a candidate. The election date is not set. Conditions in Turkey will change by then."

Following Yavaş's remarks, it emerged that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and Mansur Yavaş met yesterday.

Providing information regarding the meeting, tv100 Main News Anchor Kübra Par reported that Yavaş explained his reservations regarding the candidate selection process.

According to Par, Özel reiterated once again that he would hold a primary election.

'NO CONSENSUS'

Par included the following statements:

"I would like to share a breaking news update I received from a high-level CHP source. Today, Özgür Özel says 'the candidate for an early election is determined early,' while ABB Mayor Mansur Yavaş was saying 'It is too early to determine a candidate.'

''Özgür Özel and Mansur Yavaş met yesterday at the CHP Headquarters. The first information I received is that Yavaş listed his reservations regarding candidate selection. And he said 'early' once again. Özel reiterated once again that he would hold a primary election. In other words, even though they talked, there is no consensus/agreement for now. That is how it appears."
