Cem Küçük gives the signal... He announced the next detentions in the Gezi investigation: 'There were also people close to the government'

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office sent a letter to the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) as part of the Ayşe Barım investigation, requesting the identification of broadcasts related to the Gezi Park protests since May 27, 2013, and the submission of these broadcast records to the prosecutor's office. 

The letter alleged that some media organizations engaged in propaganda for the Gezi protests and that this situation contributed to the spread of social unrest.

'I WON'T NAME NAMES NOW...'

Following these developments, Cem Küçük, a columnist for Türkiye Gazetesi known for his proximity to the government, made striking statements regarding the Gezi investigation during a television program he attended. 

Küçük implied that the names to be detained were already determined, stating, "I won't name names now, but there were journalists who are currently on the government's side who were there and said very harsh things."

Küçük said the following:

"There is a journalist who does a famous YouTube broadcast. He was the one who praised the terrorist in red. I don't know if they will take him in. The prosecutor will decide. Cem Boyner was the number one in this business. He sent all his employees there. And Erdoğan had called them looters (çapulcu). He also arrived with a poster featuring the slogan 'Neither right-wing nor left-wing, I am a looter'."

"There were also those who broadcast in front of the channel from which they were fired. I think they will focus on about 10 people as ringleaders. I have an idea about who will be taken in. I don't know if they will be arrested or if there will be judicial control. I don't know how the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is acting. They will take 10 people, a few media bosses, editors-in-chief, and influential journalists. If it were a large-scale operation, they would have taken the artists as well."

During the Gezi period, they used four trees as an excuse. The issue was not just about trees; a massive wave of rebellion had begun. The Gezi protests moved to a different dimension after June 3rd. For instance, Osman Kavala was the organizer of this affair.

At that time, artists and journalists launched a major protest, primarily in Istanbul and Izmir. 

Very bad incidents began there. Numerous events took place. Severe insults were directed at women wearing headscarves. 

At that time, loans were secured from Deutsche Bank at a 1 percent interest rate for the third airport and the third bridge. When these incidents broke out, these agreements were canceled. And that spell was broken during that period.
