While the number of delegates to attend the convention was set at 1,127, it was learned that Istanbul provincial delegates will not vote. Additionally, PM and MYK members will not go to the polls to 'avoid legal issues.' This was a notable detail regarding attendance at the convention.
One of the important topics at the convention will be the 'Vote of Confidence.' Delegates will vote on their confidence in Özgür Özel. The election process will begin after this vote. In CHP circles, it is predicted that the vast majority of delegates will support Özel.
WHAT WILL KILIÇDAROĞLU'S TEAM DO?
The intra-party opposition, consisting of names close to former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, has decided not to attend the convention hall. However, this group will not form an alternative list against Özgür Özel.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
The convention where Özgür Özel was elected chairman for the first time in the CHP had become the subject of a lawsuit. It was alleged that there was fraud in the convention where Özel defeated Kılıçdaroğlu, and a lawsuit was filed under the leadership of Lütfü Savaş, who was expelled from the CHP.
It was alleged that a decision of 'absolute nullity' would be issued at the hearing on September 15 of the case heard at the Ankara 42nd Civil Court of First Instance, meaning that the position would be returned to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
CHP delegates decided to hold an extraordinary convention in response to this. The CHP stated that even if a trustee were appointed to the party by a court decision, the chairman to be elected at the extraordinary convention on September 21 would render the trustee void.
Additionally, some CHP delegates had filed objections three times for the cancellation of the September 21 convention. However, the district and provincial election boards rejected them. The Supreme Election Council (YSK) will also examine these objections today.
