CHP's move against a potential 'absolute nullity' ruling: This is how the government's plan will be thwarted!

The Supreme Election Council (YSK) has reached an important decision after evaluating the CHP's objections regarding the dismissal of its Istanbul Provincial Presidency and the cancellation of district congresses.

The council lifted the suspension order for the district congresses in Küçükçekmece, Sancaktepe, Bayrampaşa, Esenyurt, Çekmeköy, Avcılar, Beylikdüzü, Kartal, and Zeytinburnu, approving the continuation of congresses in these districts. However, it rejected the objection regarding the dismissal of the CHP's Istanbul Provincial Administration.

Immediately following the YSK's decision, CHP delegates applied via notary to hold an extraordinary convention. While this development increased activity within the party, another significant announcement was made in the evening: the CHP announced that it had decided to hold an extraordinary convention on September 21.

ÖZGÜR ÖZEL'S STRATEGY AND THE SEPTEMBER 21 CONVENTION

Journalist Alican Uludağ analyzed the strategy behind the CHP's decision for an extraordinary convention. Uludağ stated that this move by the CHP is a precautionary measure against the possibility of a change in party leadership.

Emphasizing that the extraordinary convention to be held on September 21 is a step against a potential "absolute nullity" ruling, Uludağ stated, "If the court in Ankara removes Özgür Özel and his team from management and hands it over to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, no one can stop this convention based on the YSK decision."

According to Uludağ, the CHP leadership has made a move against the government's plan to change the party's internal management on September 15. He said, "With the convention to be held on September 21, Özgür Özel will have thwarted the government's plan."

The CHP's extraordinary convention stands out as a decision made during a period when allegations of a trustee being appointed to the party were rising, following the arrest of Ekrem İmamoğlu and during the protests in Saraçhane. Özgür Özel was elected chairman by receiving the votes of all delegates at the convention, and the 'Key List' he prepared took over the management without any losses.

Uludağ stated that this move by Özel is not just an internal party strategy, but also a critical step in shaping the future of the CHP. He said, "Kılıçdaroğlu's plan to retake the management will be blocked by Özgür Özel's move."
