Expert report on Ferdi Zeyrek's death released: Serious negligence identified

Significant developments are taking place in the investigation into the incident where Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek lost his life after being electrocuted. Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç shared the latest information regarding the process with the public.

According to Tunç's statement, 1 deputy chief public prosecutor and 2 prosecutors have been assigned to the investigation, which is being meticulously conducted by the Manisa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

Within the scope of the investigation, the statements of 12 people have been taken so far, and 2 people have been detained.

SERIOUS NEGLIGENCE IN THE EXPERT REPORT

According to the information provided by Minister of Justice Tunç, the report prepared by the expert committee consisting of electrical and mechanical engineers revealed that there was serious negligence. The technical findings in the report are as follows:

The pool pump motor was faulty.

The residual current device, which should have been at the main entrance of the building, was completely missing.

There was rust due to corrosion on all metal equipment.

Cables and connection points were exposed to water and moisture.

The residual current device in the pool energy room was also inoperable due to corrosion.

The distance of the energy room to the pool did not comply with international safety standards.
