Fatih Altaylı explains possible scenarios following the 'absolute nullity' ruling: Reveals the election date being discussed in Ankara

Political activity in Ankara's corridors has accelerated following the "absolute nullity" ruling regarding the CHP's 38th Ordinary Convention. As the possibility of an early election is being debated again in the wake of the ruling, journalist Fatih Altaylı made notable statements during his evaluation on his YouTube channel.

Altaylı stated that he does not find the claims of an "election within 45 days" being discussed in political circles to be likely, pointing to the autumn months as the earliest possible time for an election.

"I DO NOT VIEW THE POSSIBILITY OF AN ELECTION WITHIN 45 DAYS FAVORABLY"

Stating that he does not expect an election in the short term, Fatih Altaylı said he does not agree with the comments being voiced in Ankara that "an election could be held within 45 days."

Altaylı remarked, "It is being discussed that the AK Party might go to an election within 45 days, but I do not think that is likely. Could they go to an election? They could. The earliest they would go is in November," he said.

Expressing that he does not think there will be an election before November, Altaylı suggested that the government's past experiences with election periods might also be influential in this approach.

Fatih Altaylı argued that the AK Party has a special approach toward elections held in November.

Altaylı said, "The AK Party believes in the luck of November elections. Because they have always faced trouble in elections held outside of November. They have always won the November elections.

Stating that November holds a different meaning for the government from a political perspective, Altaylı said this might be an assessment based on past election results.

"ECONOMIC PRESSURE IS FELT LESS IN THE AUTUMN"

Evaluating the possibility of an election alongside economic conditions, Fatih Altaylı stated that the autumn months could be seen as more advantageous from a political standpoint.

Altaylı expressed that after the summer period, the economic burden on citizens is felt relatively less, saying, "In the period after summer, people's expenses decrease. Heating costs have not yet begun, and economic tightness is felt a bit less. They might prefer to go to an election during such periods," he said.

"KILIÇDAROĞLU WILL NOT GIVE THE PARTY BACK"

Evaluating the process within the CHP alongside early election debates, Fatih Altaylı also made notable remarks about former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

Altaylı said, "Kılıçdaroğlu will not give this party back within these 45 days. He will do everything not to give it back."

"NEW CONSTITUTIONAL WORK MAY COME TO THE AGENDA"

Fatih Altaylı also said that constitutional debates might come to the fore instead of an election in the short term.

Stating that work on a new constitution could accelerate, Altaylı assessed, "Work for a new constitution could begin."

"I PREDICTED THE NULLITY RULING AFTER THE TRUMP CONVERSATION"

In his statements, Fatih Altaylı also touched upon the phone conversation between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and US President Donald Trump, saying that he predicted the ruling would come after this conversation.

Altaylı said, "Before İmamoğlu was taken into custody in March 2025, President Erdoğan had a conversation with Trump. Yesterday, meaning before this ruling, there was another Trump conversation. When the Trump conversation happened, I told my journalist friends that the nullity ruling was a done deal," he said.
