Get well soon message from Devlet Bahçeli to Özgür Özel! His failure to mention his name did not go unnoticed

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel was subjected to a physical assault as he was leaving the ceremony held at the AKM for the late Sırrı Süreyya Önder.

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, who made the first statement regarding the attack on Özel, shared a get-well message without mentioning Özel's name.

HE DID NOT MENTION HIS NAME

Sharing his message without mentioning Özel's name, Bahçeli said, "First of all, I convey my get-well wishes to the leader of a political institution who was subjected to a physical attack."

Bahçeli used the following expressions in his post:

First of all, I convey my get-well wishes to the leader of a political institution who attended the farewell and tribute ceremony held at the Istanbul Atatürk Cultural Center for the late Sırrı Süreyya Önder, Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and DEM Party Istanbul MP, who has passed away, and who was subsequently subjected to a physical attack.

I emphasize repeatedly that we are against all forms of violence.

On such a day, in front of everyone's eyes, and moreover at a time when humanitarian, conscientious, and Islamic sensitivities bring all our people together on a common ground, the provocation in question is thought-provoking and chilling in every sense.

It is a necessity for the sake of political and social peace that this heinous and cursed attack be investigated in all its dimensions, and that the stages of examination and inquiry be completed to lift the veil of mystery behind it, if any.

It must be clarified whether this act of violence was the product of an individual obsession or a previously planned, time-spread political conspiracy with internal and external connections. Moreover, our security and judicial organizations are capable and competent to achieve this through simultaneous work.

Dragging Turkey into a spiral of violence, fueling an environment of provocation and destruction, and heedlessly carrying out activities that support this is a historical mistake. Those who are involved in this mistake, knowingly or unknowingly, must first come to their senses and must not deviate from the orbit of moral responsibility and a common-sense attitude.

I once again pray for God's mercy upon my late brother Sırrı Süreyya Önder.
