He revealed Erdoğan's early election plan: 'It is now inevitable...'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel evaluated President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's election strategy. Özel stated that Erdoğan expects economic problems to lose their impact over time and is planning to implement an "election economy" toward the end of 2027.

Reiterating his call for an early election, Özel said, "Let Erdoğan bring the ballot box as soon as possible and let the nation decide."

"IF WE WERE AFRAID, WE WOULD NOT INVITE ERDOĞAN TO AN ELECTION"

Özel continued his harsh criticism of Erdoğan. Stating, "If we were afraid, we would not invite Erdoğan to an election," Özel noted that he predicts the government will continue to avoid an early election in 2026.

He stated that in 2027, when they might consider holding an election, they would plan to implement an election economy.

The CHP leader emphasized that the Presidential Government System makes early elections difficult, saying they expect 2025 to be a difficult year, but that the possibility of an early election for 2026 is inevitable. Saying, "In 2026, there should be an early election in a country that is so poorly managed and drifting," he also expressed his concerns about Erdoğan's moves to eliminate his rivals.

"YENİDEN REFAH PARTİSİ ALSO WANTS AN ELECTION"

Özel stated that there are two parties discussing an early election with the AK Party. Saying, "One is us, the other is the Yeniden Refah Partisi," Özel said that the AK Party avoided an election in November, but that they support the Yeniden Refah Partisi's demand for an election in March or April.

Özel stated that the government plans to implement an election economy in 2027, and expressed that they have no fears regarding Erdoğan's candidacy. He used the expressions, "If we were afraid, we would not invite Erdoğan to an election. We always tell Erdoğan, whether it's his son, his son-in-law, his minister, or himself, let him bring the ballot box as soon as possible."
