Here are the polls on Özgür Özel's desk: Who is winning the Erdoğan-İmamoğlu race?

Nefes columnist Aytunç Erkin covered the discussions within the CHP regarding the presidential elections and potential election scenarios in his column. Ciner Media Group Ankara Representative Fevzi Çakır shared insider information regarding the meeting held on February 9 between CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş.

According to what Çakır reported, Mansur Yavaş stated during this meeting regarding his presidential candidacy: "From this point on, whether or not I become a candidate cannot be my decision alone. The public has bought into this. Know that if the polls continue to come out like this, I will be a candidate."

A similar claim was brought to the agenda by Gökçer Tahincioğlu in Gazete Oksijen on February 14. According to this claim, Mansur Yavaş said to Ekrem İmamoğlu at the same meeting, "If you are going to get 50+1 percent, I have no objection to your candidacy." It was alleged that İmamoğlu responded to these words by saying, "I am not Mr. Kemal. If I feel that I cannot be elected, I will withdraw. I will return the mandate to the Chairman."

İmamoğlu's advisor Murat Ongun stated in his explanation to Halk TV regarding the subject that no evaluation was made about Kılıçdaroğlu at the meeting. Ongun stated that İmamoğlu only said, "If I realize I cannot be elected, I will withdraw," but that Kılıçdaroğlu's name was not mentioned.

THE SITUATION OF İMAMOĞLU AND YAVAŞ

In the polls conducted regarding the presidential election, data was presented on how Ekrem İmamoğlu and Mansur Yavaş would perform in different scenarios. The poll, which was placed before CHP leader Özgür Özel and conducted by the Social Impact Research Center (TEAM) on 6 thousand subjects, presented important findings regarding the presidential elections.

In this research, a three-way race scenario was first addressed. It was stated that after the undecided voters were distributed, the People's Alliance candidate Tayyip Erdoğan received 37 percent, the CHP candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu received 35.9 percent, and the independent candidate Mansur Yavaş received 19.7 percent. The total vote share of other candidates was calculated as 7.4 percent.

In the event that the election goes to a second round, how the race between İmamoğlu and Erdoğan would conclude was examined. Accordingly, after the undecided voters were distributed, Ekrem İmamoğlu received 57.2 percent and Tayyip Erdoğan received 42.8 percent.

It was stated that the poll conducted by TEAM supports the view held by the CHP administration that "Ekrem İmamoğlu should be the presidential candidate." However, Mansur Yavaş's supporters drew a different picture by arguing that Yavaş comes out ahead in different polls.

SODEMSEN POLL

Another piece of research regarding the presidential elections was carried out by the Social Democratic Public Employers' Union (SODEMSEN). In this study, which was conducted by 11 different research companies on a total of 250 thousand subjects, the vote shares of political parties were measured.

According to the results of the poll, while the CHP became the leading party with 33 percent, the AKP took second place with 31.2 percent. The MHP received 9.5 percent, the DEM 9.7 percent, the İYİ Party 3.8 percent, the Victory Party (Zafer Partisi) 4.6 percent, the New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi) 2.7 percent, and other parties received 5.5 percent.

In the measurement made regarding local election trends, the CHP's vote share was determined as 49.3 percent, the People's Alliance (AKP+MHP) vote share as 34.7 percent, and the total vote share of other parties as 16 percent.

In the study conducted on 250 thousand subjects, the tendency to vote in the presidential election was also asked. According to the results, while the CHP candidate received 56.8 percent of the votes, the People's Alliance candidate received 43.2 percent.

While it was stated that the poll results could be decisive in terms of the discussions carried out within the CHP regarding the presidential candidacy, it was expressed that different evaluations could be made by the public in the coming period.
