İsmail Saymaz shares details of his conversation with Sedat Peker: MHP remarks that will spark debate!

The thank-you message from MHP Deputy Chairman İzzet Ulvi Yönter to organized crime leader Sedat Peker has sparked controversy.

Yönter thanked Peker, who provided 1 million 800 thousand lira in aid for the medical expenses of Special Operations Police officer Ömer Korkmaz, via social media by saying, "May God be pleased with you."

A fundraising campaign had been launched for the stem cell treatment and care expenses of Special Operations Police officer Ömer Korkmaz, who retired after suffering a stroke.

Sedat Peker announced that he supported the campaign in a post on his social media account. Quoting this post, MHP member İzzet Ulvi Yönter stated, "May God be pleased with you. I wish healing for our Special Operations Police officer."

IS THE ICE MELTING WITH THE MHP?

Journalist İsmail Saymaz brought the issue to the agenda on the program "Yeni Bir Sabah" (A New Morning) broadcast on Halk TV. Sharing his conversation with Peker, Saymaz stated that he asked, "Has the ice between you and the MHP melted?"

Peker replied to this question, saying, "I do not find the perception that I have hostility toward the MHP to be correct. I have never had any disrespectful expressions toward Mr. Devlet Bahçeli. In the past, there was a tension between Şefkat Çetin and me, but there was no resentment or falling out with the MHP. Devlet Bahçeli is the natural leader of the Nationalist Movement."

According to Saymaz, Peker stated that the thank-you message he received had nothing to do with his relations with the MHP.

Peker commented on MHP's Yönter as "a name known in the political arena who carries weight," and evaluated the thanks he received as "bringing the issue to the public's attention."
