Stating that the PKK laying down its arms is of great importance not only for security but also for brotherhood and unity, Tunç said, "The dagger that was plunged into our 1,000-year-old brotherhood is being removed. The terrorist organization has harmed the integrity of our country not only economically but also socially and psychologically. This discord is finally coming to an end."

Stating that the architects of the process were President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and MHP Leader Devlet Bahçeli, Tunç recalled Erdoğan's speech in Ahlat and Bahçeli's call during his group meeting. "The messages that came from Imralı following these calls, the terrorist organization's self-dissolution, and the surrender of weapons at the point reached today represent a very important stage," he said.

Stating that more than 15,000 security personnel have been martyred and there are more than 30,000 veterans due to terrorism, Tunç praised the fortitude of the families of the martyrs, saying, "This is a process that will not hurt them. They say, 'Our child was martyred so that no one else would die again.' We view this stance with great respect."

The Justice Minister said that the coordinated action of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT), the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), and the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs was effective in the success of the process. "Differences of opinion experienced during coalition periods, as in the 90s, would have prevented this success. But now there is a single will and a determined administration," he said.

Tunç stated that terrorism has also cost Turkey dearly in financial terms, saying, "2 trillion dollars were spent. With this money, 100 third bridges, 100,000 kilometers of high-speed train lines, 1,000 city hospitals, 1,000 libraries, and 1,000 schools could have been built. This cost has been stolen from the country's future."

"A TERROR-FREE TURKEY IS FINALLY BECOMING A REALITY"

Tunç concluded his statement by saying, "Turkey has now entered the path of building a future without terrorism. Entering the second century of our Republic cleansed of the scourge of terrorism will be our greatest gain. This process will further strengthen our nation's unity and solidarity."
