The latest on the negotiations between Öcalan and the People's Alliance: Öcalan wants 2 articles of the Constitution changed! The AKP's demand has also emerged

Journalist Fatih Altaylı made important statements in his latest YouTube program regarding the process that has begun between PKK leader Öcalan and the People's Alliance.

Commenting on Öcalan's desire to marry, Altaylı said, "It is a normal request. He has been sitting alone for 25 years. It is normal for him to have such a request."

PROMISE OF HOUSE ARREST GIVEN TO ÖCALAN

According to what is being discussed in Ankara, a promise of house arrest in Ankara has been given to Öcalan.

Things have become very normalized now. If a nationalist is giving a promise of freedom to Öcalan, it means anything can happen in this country.

ÖCALAN WANTS 2 ARTICLES CHANGED

Öcalan's demands include the amendment of two articles of the Constitution.

One of these is Article 42 and the other is Article 66.

Article 42 is what we know as the Law on Unification of Education, which actually regulates the right to education.

And at the end of that article, it states that it is impossible for any language other than Turkish to be accepted as a mother tongue in education provided in Turkey.

The exception to this article is that the language of instruction in every school must be Turkish, except for institutions determined by international agreements.

In other words, except for minority schools determined in the Treaty of Lausanne, education must be in Turkish. One of Öcalan's demands is the amendment of this Article 42.

Another article that Öcalan wants changed is Article 66.

In Article 66, PKK leader Öcalan has demanded the amendment of the clause, 'Everyone bound to the Republic of Turkey by the bond of citizenship is a Turk.'

The amendment of this article is something the Kurdish political movement has wanted for many years.

THE AKP'S DEMAND IS THE AMENDMENT OF ARTICLE 101

In return, the government wants Article 101 of the Constitution to be amended.

Article 101 is the article regarding a person being elected as a presidential candidate a maximum of 2 times.

CLAIMED THEY REACHED AN AGREEMENT

It is alleged that the government and Öcalan have reached an agreement on constitutional amendment.
