New tables are being set in Ankara: Four parties could merge!

The possibility of a new bloc among right-wing parties is being discussed in political circles. It is noted that alliance balances are being reshaped in Ankara, especially following the local elections, and that the traffic of contacts has accelerated.

SEARCH FOR EXPANSION IN THE PEOPLE'S ALLIANCE

It is stated that evaluations are being made on the AKP-MHP axis regarding the consolidation and, if possible, the expansion of the People's Alliance following the local elections.

According to insider information, it is noted that the New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi), which drew attention with its local election performance, has increased its bargaining power, and that contacts with some smaller conservative parties are ongoing.

FOUR PARTIES COULD MEET IN AN ALLIANCE

In assessments made in Ankara, it is stated that it is considered almost certain that the DEVA Party, the Future Party (Gelecek Partisi), and the Felicity Party (Saadet Partisi), in addition to the New Welfare Party, will enter elections as an alliance.

It is noted that the most striking topic within this picture is the İYİ Party.

“INDEPENDENT LINE” MESSAGE FROM İYİ PARTY

According to the report by Merve Kılıç from Cumhuriyet, the İYİ Party is not conducting any alliance negotiations at this stage, and a new bloc politics is not on its agenda. It is stated that the party remains distant not only from a new unity formula that could form on the nationalist-conservative axis but also from an alliance to be established with parties of nationalist-idealist origin.

It is noted that the search for an “independent line” has gained strength within the İYİ Party following the alliance tensions experienced during the 2023 election process. It is stated that in internal party evaluations, the view that broad alliance models create identity confusion in the party base in the long term, even if they provide gains in the short term, has come to the fore.

While it is conveyed that a strong political will is maintained for the continuation of the alliance between the AKP and the MHP, it is stated that the fragmented picture among right-wing voters has brought new searches to the agenda.
