Özgür Özel reveals the latest poll on his desk: He gave a date for early elections!

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made statements regarding his party's election preparations. Evaluating the agenda during a broadcast on Karar TV, Özel recalled the results of the last elections and emphasized that his party has risen to the position of the leading party.

Özel stated that interest in the CHP has increased, particularly among retirees (those over 55), young people (aged 18-25), and low-income, low-education segments of the population.

"These groups are the most important dynamics that enabled the CHP to become the leading party," said Özel, adding that these communities support the CHP strongly. He also added that for the first time, the CHP has become the leading party among these voter groups.

ELECTION RESULTS: CHP SURPASSED AKP

Özel also shared the election results. While the CHP's vote share was determined to be 32.7% before the distribution of undecided voters, the AKP remained at 28.5%. When undecided voters were distributed, the CHP's rate rose to a level between 36% and 38%. Özel used the expression, "Our path is clear, we are moving forward."

Addressing the criticisms directed at Sevgi Kılıç, the Chair of the CHP Youth and Sports Policy Board, Özel emphasized that women wearing headscarves can engage in politics within his party. "The time has come, you will see headscarved deputies on CHP lists," said Özel, adding that this decision was not taken for the sake of an "opening" or gesture, but because they want to ensure that women who wear headscarves can engage in politics under equal conditions with women who do not.

EARLY ELECTION DATE

Özgür Özel stated that they are monitoring the government's early election plans through their projects. Drawing attention to the "misery wage" given to retirees and the low raises made to the minimum wage, Özel said these indicators show there is no intention for an early election yet.

However, referring to reports suggesting an early election will be held in 2027, Özel said, "The government's plan could be the end of 2027, or even the autumn," noting that he has seen such reports.

Furthermore, stating that the aircraft carrier Turkey has begun to build will be launched at the end of 2028, Özel noted that this date has been moved up to September 2027, and therefore they believe an early election could take place in October or November 2027.

ÖZEL SAID WE ARE READY FROM 2026

However, Özel stated that they are always ready to put ballot boxes out in the spring of 2026, saying, "Even if 2027 is being discussed, we are always ready for the spring of 2026."
