Pervin Buldan announces: Imralı delegation and Erdoğan to meet!

DEM Party Van MP and Imralı delegation member Pervin Buldan made notable statements during a television program she attended. Buldan announced that the Imralı delegation will meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after the Eid al-Adha holiday.

Sharing details regarding the meeting, Buldan stated that Erdoğan had indicated it would be more appropriate for the meeting to take place after the holiday. Expressing that they expect concrete steps from the government during this process, Buldan said, "Peace is not something that will happen in a few days. We need to be patient. Of course, we all expect concrete steps, but we have to wait."

CALL FOR "CHANGING ÖCALAN'S CONDITIONS"

Buldan stated that for the resolution process to progress healthily, changes must be made to the conditions of Öcalan, who is imprisoned in Imralı. Noting that opening communication channels is important for the PKK to convene its congress, Buldan spoke as follows:

"The appropriate conditions for the congress to be held must be provided by the government. We hear that the government is making some preparations regarding Mr. Öcalan's conditions. However, there is no clear information reaching us on this matter."

EXPECTATION OF LEGAL REFORM

Pervin Buldan also pointed out that the situation of prisoners in jails should not be ignored for the process to move forward. Stating that the release of Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ would make a positive contribution to the process, Buldan used the following expressions:

"The situation of our friends held in prisons is also important. Reforms regarding the judiciary must be made. This will support both the progress of the process and the positive atmosphere that will be created in society."
