NEW PROCESS BEGAN WITH BAHÇELİ'S CALL

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli had called for a new İmralı Process in his statement on October 22, 2024, with the goal of a "Turkey without terrorism."

Following this call, a delegation from the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) visited İmralı multiple times and held meetings with Öcalan. After the meeting held on February 27, the DEM Party delegation announced to the public Öcalan's call for the PKK to dissolve and lay down its arms.

CEASEFIRE CALL HAD COME FROM THE PKK

Following Öcalan's call to lay down arms, a statement had come from the terrorist organization PKK. In the statement made by the terrorist organization, they announced that they would not carry out any attack actions as long as they were not attacked themselves.

ANOTHER MESSAGE COMING FROM ÖCALAN

Following the meetings the DEM Party will hold in parliament with the MHP and AKP, an important development occurred regarding the meeting held with the MHP. The DEM Party delegation met with the MHP at 11:00.

Journalist Hilal Köylü, who first announced this meeting on her social media account, stated that Öcalan has another message and that this message will be read during the Nevruz celebrations to be held on March 21.

PROCESS CONTINUES

It is expected that the DEM Party delegation will pay another visit to İmralı and hold a meeting with Öcalan following their meetings with the MHP and AKP. The İmralı Process stands out as a process frequently visited by political party officials and where critical statements are made.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has maintained a cautious approach toward the İmralı Process, becoming one of the quietest actors in the process. However, after his latest group meeting, Erdoğan had announced that he could meet with the DEM Party. Upon this, the DEM Party also requested an appointment from Erdoğan.

MEETING POSTPONED UNTIL AFTER RAMADAN FEAST

DEM Party Co-Chair Pervin Buldan stated that the meeting in question might be left until after the Ramadan Feast. This development points to the uncertainty of the calendar regarding the İmralı Process and that the process could continue for a longer period.
