Pro-government columnist known for accurate predictions claims operation against business world: 'Those close to İmamoğlu...' Is the government preparing for a snap election?
Cem Küçük, a pro-government columnist for Türkiye Gazetesi known for previously announcing operations related to the controversial Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) investigations, has now claimed that a potential operation against the business world is in the works. Küçük also made assessments regarding potential successors to Erdoğan.
Cem Küçük, one of the prominent figures in the pro-government media, penned an article titled "Thinking about the post-Erdoğan era." In his article, he stated that while names to replace President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have begun to be discussed, such talk is meaningless.
Küçük stated, "Strong leaders like Erdoğan do not have a second or third-man issue."
SNAP ELECTION CLAIM
Küçük pointed out that if Erdoğan decides to call for an early election, he could run again and extend his term in office. He used the following expressions in his article:
"The post-Erdoğan discussion is actually a bit absurd! Because there is more than 2.5 years left in Erdoğan's term. If Parliament wishes, he has the right to be elected one more time. If he is elected, add another 5 years, which makes it roughly eight years. It is not logical to talk about 8 years from now already."
According to this calculation, although the regular election date is 2028, comments suggesting that a possible snap election is on the agenda have gained strength.
"THERE MAY BE FRACTURES IN THE BUSINESS WORLD"
In his article, Küçük also touched upon business people who are allegedly making preparations for the post-Erdoğan era. He claimed that some business people are trying to maintain good relations with both Erdoğan and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
Küçük stated, "It is heard that there are those who are making calculations for the post-Erdoğan era. There are even those among business people thought to be close to Erdoğan who are doing this. It is not as if there are no business people acting with the mindset of 'Let me steer the helm toward İmamoğlu, and keep my relations good with both Erdoğan and İmamoğlu.' It would be funny to think that Erdoğan would not know about these."
Cem Küçük specifically emphasized that his claims of potential operations are based on his observations of the process, not on specific information. He included the following assessments in his article:
''If there are some fractures in the business world in the near future, no one should be surprised. These are not based on information, but are readings of a process. Anyone who knows Turkey a little bit and knows Erdoğan a little bit can see the future. Perhaps some operations that have happened recently but which we could not make sense of are part of this. Who knows...''
