Terrorist organization leaderAbdullah Ocalan's meeting with the DEM Party delegation on Imrali Island in May wasalsoattended by state officials. 

In thismeeting, Ocalan's remarks regarding MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli drew attention.

According totheinformationconveyed by Rusen Cakir,itwasstatedthat Ocalansaidabout Bahceli, "There are no statesmen. After Ataturk, the only statesmanis Bahceli."During the samemeeting, Ocalanit was stated that he mentioneda poem sent to him by Bahceli.“BAHCELI SENT ME A POEM, I DID NOT LEAVE HIS HAND HANGING IN THE AIR”

Ocalan stated that Bahceli sent him a poem by CahitSitki Taranci and said the following:“Bahceli made that valuablecall. He said, ‘I respectfully greet the architect of the process.’ This is a situationwithout precedent in the world. He raised his hand, and I took his hand. I did not leave it hanging in the air. If I had not taken it, history would not have forgiven us.”

“PUBLIC SUPPORT HAS REACHED 70 PERCENT”Following the meeting, Ocalan claimed that the public also gave great support to the process,assessing that “I think support among the public has reached 70 percent.”
