Results of the latest polls are surprising: The leading party has changed, and İmamoğlu and Yavaş are pulling ahead!
The nationwide survey conducted by Area Araştırma has revealed striking results regarding political balances and economic expectations. While the competition between the AKP and CHP continues, it has been observed that the chances of Mansur Yavaş and Ekrem İmamoğlu against Erdoğan in the presidential elections have increased even further.
Area Araştırma has released its final poll of 2024 under the title "Turkey Political Agenda Survey."
The survey, conducted with a total of 2,024 people across 26 provinces and 87 districts, was carried out using the CATI (Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing) method following the announcement of the minimum wage as 22,104 liras on December 24.
The following questions were posed to the participants:
“If an election were held today, which party would you vote for?”
“Do you find the government's economic policy successful?”
“How does your family's economic outlook for 2025 compare to 2024?”
Additionally, participants ranked the politicians they trust the most.
THE SITUATION BEFORE THE REDISTRIBUTION OF UNDECIDED VOTERS
The responses to the question “If an election were held today” were as follows:
AKP: 23.8%
CHP: 21%
MHP: 8%
DEM Party: 6.8%
İYİ Party: 5.6%
Zafer Party: 3.6%
YRP: 3%
TİP: 1.7%
Anahtar Party and DEVA: 1.7% and 1.4%
Other: 2.3%
Undecided: 20.7%
After the redistribution of undecided voters, the party rankings were determined as follows:
AKP: 30%
CHP: 27.1%
MHP: 10.1%
DEM Party: 8.6%
İYİ Party: 7.1%
In this scenario, the DEM Party and the İYİ Party pass the 7% election threshold. Compared to the November poll, it was observed that the CHP dropped from 30% to 27.1%, while the AKP rose from 29.5% to 30%.
YAVAŞ AND İMAMOĞLU AHEAD IN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
Striking results emerged from the responses to the question, “How would you vote if the following names were candidates in a presidential election?”:
Mansur Yavaş: 52.9%
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan: 32.4%
Ekrem İmamoğlu: 46.1%
The survey also highlighted the impact of economic problems on citizens.
According to the survey, the following results emerged regarding the government's economic policy:
Percentage of those who find the government's economic policy successful: 22.7%
Percentage of those who find it unsuccessful: 74.4%
The participants' responses regarding their family's economic situation were as follows:
“Our income is less than our expenses”: 43.9%
“Our income is equal to our expenses”: 36.1%
“Our income is more than our expenses”: 20%
When asked about their family's economic expectations for 2025, the vast majority of participants indicated that it would be worse than 2024.
