Sırrı Süreyya Önder's comment on the resolution process: 'We usually end up in prison'
A debate on the resolution process took place during the 2025 budget negotiations in Parliament. TBMM Deputy Speaker Sırrı Süreyya Önder stated that the possibilities regarding the process usually end up in prison.
The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker Sırrı Süreyya Önder to discuss the 2025 budgets of the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.
During the negotiations, Saadet Party MP Bülent Kaya made a humorous comment to Önder regarding the resolution process.
Kaya said, "Even the possibility of a resolution process has affected you, in a positive sense, just for the sake of peace, of course."
Responding to this comment, Önder stated, "When such possibilities emerge, the road to prison usually appears for us, but we are not people to be affected by these things."
WORDS RETRACTED
Following Kaya's remark, "Not in the processes, but in the results, that is the case," Önder said, "I will pretend not to understand, otherwise I would be very saddened by this accusation of yours."
After the debate, Bülent Kaya stated that he retracted his words, and the matter was closed.
