Striking article from Kılıçdaroğlu... 'Turkey, Trump, Netanyahu consensus': Emphasis on the Greater Middle East Project co-chair

Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu made striking comments regarding the latest developments in Syria in an article he penned for Karar newspaper. Stating that Turkey's security measures have disturbed Israel, Kılıçdaroğlu said that the ongoing process should be read within the framework of a "consensus quietly reached between Turkey, Trump, and Netanyahu."

“THE US AND THE GME ARE BEHIND THE PROCESS”

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu evaluated the policy the US is pursuing in Syria in the context of the "Greater Middle East" (GME) project. Stating that Washington has brought both the Al-Qaeda-linked Jolani administration and the SDF, which forms the backbone of the PYD, to the same table as equal actors in Syria, Kılıçdaroğlu expressed that this situation shows that a covert Kurdish autonomous structure has been de facto accepted in Syria.

"The fact that the new Syrian administration is seen as equal to the SDF and that the PYD is made part of the political process without laying down its arms shows that the US is killing two birds with one stone within the scope of the GME," said Kılıçdaroğlu, noting that Washington has moved one step closer to its strategic goals in the region with this move.

A MESSAGE TO TURKEY FROM ISRAEL AND THE EU?

Kılıçdaroğlu also interpreted the European Union High Representative's last-minute cancellation of a planned meeting with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Israel's bombing of certain airports in Syria as a "message to Turkey."

On the other hand, stating that the praise-filled remarks Trump made about President Erdoğan are also meaningful in this equation, Kılıçdaroğlu used the expression, "All these developments could be signs of a consensus quietly reached between Turkey, Trump, and Netanyahu."

“ERDOĞAN HAD ADMITTED TO BEING THE CO-CHAIR OF THE GME”

In his article, Kılıçdaroğlu also referred to President Erdoğan's 2006 statement, "I am a co-chair of the GME," and emphasized that Turkey has been placed in the position of not only a target country but also an implementer in this project.

Drawing attention to Trump's previous statement that "the key to Syria is in Turkey's hands," the former CHP leader argued that the centralist structure of the Presidential Government System allows global powers to implement their projects on Turkey more easily.

Concluding his article with the following statements, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "Turkey is no longer just determining its own destiny, but has also undertaken the subcontracting of global plans in the region. Silent consensuses and alliances with hidden agendas are distancing our country from the principle of independence in foreign policy."
