Surprising results in poll: Erdoğan on the rise, decline for Yavaş and İmamoğlu...

Asal Research has shared the results of its “Turkey Political Agenda December 2024” survey.

The poll, conducted with 1,860 people in 26 provinces between December 9-12, 2024, has a margin of error of +/- 2.34.

In the survey, participants were presented with 3 different scenarios and asked, “If the candidates in the upcoming presidential election were as follows, who would you vote for?”

Participants were first shown a presidential election scenario featuring President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

“If the candidates in the upcoming presidential election were as follows, who would you vote for?” In response, 51.4 percent said Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, while the rate of those saying they would vote for Özgür Özel remained at 26.1 percent. The rate of those who answered “I have no opinion” was 22.5 percent.

In the survey, participants were then asked to choose between Erdoğan and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş. According to the results, Erdoğan’s vote share was 42 percent, while those who preferred Mansur Yavaş stood at 39.4 percent. Those who answered “I have no opinion” were measured at 18.6 percent.

Finally, participants were shown a scenario where Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and President Erdoğan were candidates, and were asked, “If the candidates in the upcoming presidential election were as follows, who would you vote for?” The rate of those declaring they would vote for Erdoğan was 45.5 points, while those who preferred İmamoğlu remained at 36.3 percent. The rate of those who answered “I have no opinion” was 18.2 percent.
