The contents of the booklet Ekrem İmamoğlu sent to MPs have been revealed: Here is the behind-the-scenes of the operations...

IMM Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently detained at Silivri Prison, sent a booklet explaining the operation process.

The booklet contains a critical detail regarding the initial phase of the investigation. It provides information that Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek took office on October 8, 2024, and just 10 days later, on October 18, 2024, the “IMM frame-up investigation” was launched.

It was pointed out that mass detentions began on March 19, shortly after İmamoğlu officially filed his candidacy for the presidency. The booklet criticized the fact that details of the investigation were leaked to media outlets close to the government, despite the confidentiality order on the file.

It was stated that former Medya AŞ General Manager Fatoş Pınar Türker and Fatih Keleş’s son, Mustafa Keleş, were referred for arrest on charges of “bribery,” but were arrested on charges of “membership in an organization,” which was not the subject of the referral. It was emphasized that this situation is the primary example of the legal contradictions in the file.

THE DEFINITION OF “EKREM İMAMOĞLU PROFIT-ORIENTED CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION”

One of the most striking points in the booklet was the phrase “Ekrem İmamoğlu Profit-Oriented Criminal Organization” appearing in the investigation documents. It was stated that this definition was preferred by the prosecutor's office and was intended to create a perception in the public eye.

The most important point in the investigation was defined as “lack of evidence.” It was noted that no concrete evidence could be presented to prove the allegations, and for this reason, an “effective remorse” strategy was put into effect.

It was pointed out that in some accusations based on HTS records, it emerged that the individuals mentioned were never together at the same time. It was stated that while tender files were sent to the prosecutor's office by the relevant institutions, arrests were made without including any concrete information regarding which tender involved corruption or bribery, or in what amount.

The booklet included the following statements:

“Within the scope of the file, not a single concrete document has been found regarding the baseless and unfounded accusations, which are almost all based on secret or hostile witnesses. Despite this, in order to spread the perception that the allegations are comprehensive, the so-called organization was branded with the name ‘system,’ and broadcasts having no relation to the truth were made in media outlets close to the government.”

The booklet also expressed that the individuals detained within the scope of the investigation have been kept in isolation for months and have been subjected to threats and psychological pressure. The difficulties experienced by the detainees during their transfer to prison and while in prison were also detailed in the report.
