The phone recording allegation shaking Ankara: What happened during the meeting between Özgür Özel and Özlem Çerçioğlu?

According to allegations reported by parliamentary correspondents Mahmut Aydın and Tarık Işık in the "If Walls Could Talk" column of Nefes newspaper, a suspicious situation emerged regarding the meeting between Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu, who moved from the CHP to the AKP, and CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

Following the local elections, Çerçioğlu was expected to have a 5-6 minute meeting with Özgür Özel at the Istanbul Provincial Headquarters.

However, before the meeting, the actions of a person accompanying Çerçioğlu were found suspicious. It was suspected that this person might have been trying to secretly record the meeting with a phone. For this reason, phones were not allowed into the meeting room.

A COMPUTER WAS BROUGHT FOR THE MEETING

Özlem Çerçioğlu's team had brought a computer with them to make a presentation. However, the concern over secret recording was also evaluated as an attempt that could be made via the computer.

Upon this suspicion, Özgür Özel limited himself to only listening to Çerçioğlu's claims and did not make any comments during the meeting.

It was stated that during the meeting, Çerçioğlu made certain allegations regarding Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel. However, when these allegations were investigated, it turned out they were not true.
