Ümit Özdağ sent a letter from Silivri: He explained why he was arrested!

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ wrote a special letter for the rally his party organized in İzmir titled "No amnesty for the murderers of Mehmetçik (Turkish soldiers)."

"THE REASON FOR MY ARREST..."

Making statements regarding the process, Özdağ said, "The reason for my arrest is the Zafer Party's resistance to the efforts of Erdoğan, Bahçeli, and Öcalan to transform Turkey into a Turkish, Kurdish, and Arab federation within the framework of a new paradigm. My being held in Silivri against the federation bargaining of Erdoğan, Bahçeli, and terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan is a tribute to the existence of our Mehmetçiks, our police officers, our citizens who fell as martyrs in the fight against the PKK terrorist organization, their cherished memories, and our dear veterans."

The full text of the letter, which was read by Zafer Party Deputy Chairman Özcan Pehlivanoğlu, included the following statements:

"Dear people of İzmir, dear patriots, dear soldiers of Mustafa Kemal, I greet you from the Silivri Closed Penal Execution Institution. I was taken into custody for insulting the president, with even the most fundamental rights such as the openness of hearings being ignored in violation of the Constitution and the laws. I was arrested by an unauthorized court with a hastily prepared document for social media posts I made between 2020 and 2022, on charges of inciting the public to hatred and enmity. The real reason for my arrest is neither insulting Erdoğan nor inciting the public to hatred and enmity. The reason for my arrest is the Zafer Party's resistance to the efforts of Erdoğan, Bahçeli, and Öcalan to transform Turkey into a Turkish, Kurdish, and Arab federation within the framework of a new paradigm.

''Dear people of İzmir, I am a scientist who has closely studied the fight against terrorism for years by traveling through cities, districts, mountains, and police stations in the Southeast, and by crossing the border. I am a person who has seen and experienced how the Turkish army, police, and gendarmerie heroically fought against the PKK terrorist organization and how they resisted vile ambushes. I have personally witnessed how the families of our Mehmetçiks, police officers, and citizens who were martyred in this heroic struggle lived through their heavy pain with dignity. I have witnessed the honorable stance of our dear veterans and their families who lost their eyes, arms, legs, and sometimes everything for their homeland.
