Gezi post from Özgür Özel! 'Our struggle continues'

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel made a post regarding the 12th anniversary of the Gezi Resistance.

In his post on X, Özel reiterated that Can Atalay, Osman Kavala, Tayfun Kahraman, Mine Özerden, and Çiğdem Mater should regain their freedom.

"Our struggle for a future with its greenery, its nature, and for a fair and free society continues today," said Özel, who also commemorated the citizens who lost their lives during Gezi.

Özel used the following expressions in his post:

"The most widely attended, most peaceful civil action in our history, where millions of our citizens stood shoulder to shoulder for Turkey, is #Gezi12YearsOld.

Our struggle for a future with its greenery, its nature, and for a fair and free society continues today.

I commemorate with mercy and respect our loved ones who were killed while exercising their right to protest during the Gezi actions.

I wish for the immediate release of Can Atalay, Osman Kavala, Tayfun Kahraman, Mine Özerden, and Çiğdem Mater, who are being kept in prison for the sake of a grudge, despite having no crime."
