Group meeting crisis grows in CHP: New application from Kılıçdaroğlu to the Parliament Speaker's Office

Following the "absolute nullity" debates within the Republican People's Party (CHP), the issue of the group meeting has now become a hot topic within the party. Kılıçdaroğlu's desire to hold a group meeting at the TBMM tomorrow was not accepted by the CHP Group Management.

In his statement after the Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting today, Özgür Özel emphasized that he would preside over the group meeting. Addressing Kılıçdaroğlu's desire to lead the meeting, Özel stated, "It is impossible for us to hand over that podium to someone who is appointed, not elected."

The Kılıçdaroğlu side, however, has not given up on tomorrow's meeting. CHP Aydın Deputy Hüseyin Yıldız went to the TBMM on behalf of Kılıçdaroğlu and submitted a petition containing the request for a group meeting to the Group Administration. This petition requested that the meeting time be notified to the Parliament Speaker's Office.

However, the CHP Group Management did not process the petition in question due to a procedural deficiency. It was learned that the request was deemed invalid on the grounds that the document lacked the signature of CHP Secretary General Rıfat Nalbantoğlu and a document reference number. The application was rejected by the management with the assessment, "We cannot process this because there is no secretary general signature or document number."

Upon this, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's team took a new step and conveyed their request directly to the TBMM Speaker's Office via a written application.
