Gürsel Tekin spoke in Taksim: He announced which building he will go to!

Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed as the trustee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency by court order, laid a wreath at the Taksim Republic Monument on the 102nd anniversary of his party's founding. Responding to journalists' questions after the ceremony, Tekin emphasized the deep-rooted tradition of the CHP.

"THE REPUBLICAN PEOPLE'S PARTY WAS FOUNDED ON THE BATTLEFIELDS"

Starting his statement by commemorating Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms, Tekin said:

"Today is the anniversary of our party's founding. I commemorate Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms with mercy. The Republican People's Party is a political party founded on the battlefields. We will act in accordance with its traditions, rules, and constitution. This is our primary duty."

When asked whether he would welcome CHP Chairman Özgür Özel in Taksim, Tekin gave the following response:

"We held our wreath-laying ceremony today. Our chairman and executives will also come. We will be hand in hand, arm in arm, in accordance with the founding philosophy of our party. We will be occupied with Turkey's real agenda. My colleagues and I will do what needs to be done in a short time as required by our duty, and after fulfilling our responsibility to our party, we will end our tenure."

"WE WILL NOT BE A PART OF THE BUILDING DEBATE"

Touching upon the fact that the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency building has been the subject of controversy, Tekin stated, "Of course, the chairman of my party is Özgür Özel. Even if there is anger and resentment, we have buried our anger inside. We will not be a part of the building debate. What happened outside of our initiative saddened us the most."

"OUR OFFICIAL BUILDING IS IN SARIYER"

Regarding where the provincial presidency will operate, Tekin made the following statement:

"Our official building is currently in Sarıyer. We do not want to enter into a building debate. As long as it says Republican People's Party with six arrows on it, I will work anywhere. Everywhere is ours. Currently, our official building is in Sarıyer, we will go there."
