Gürsel Tekin, who served for many years in the Republican People's Party (CHP) as a member of parliament, deputy chairman, and secretary-general, resigned from his party in recent days.

Participating in a program on Habertürk, Tekin made statements responding to criticisms from the 'reformist' cadres.

"I CHALLENGE THEM FROM HERE"

Responding to the criticisms of the 'reformist' cadres, Tekin said:

"I challenge them from here; I want to invite every friend who calls themselves a reformist to a broadcast on Habertürk. Let them come, and let's talk together. Ultimately, I am a person who has put effort into this party, worked for it, and served as a poll observer for this party. I am not someone who has enriched themselves.

I am a politician who has stood tall against enrichment in politics. I know very well who is a reformist and who is not."

WILL HE SUPPORT İMAMOĞLU?

Tekin responded to the question, "Will you support Ekrem İmamoğlu in Istanbul?" as follows:

"Sir, these are not reformists, they are rotten men. Why would I support them? No one asked our friends who know Istanbul street by street, inch by inch, and who are the people in need of support. All the neighborhood heads (muhtars) of Istanbul only know me when they hear 'CHP'. I don't think these friends of ours have any such need."
