Appearing as a guest on a live Habertürk broadcast, Davutoğlu evaluated the rising tensions in the Middle East.

WE CONDUCTED THE EXCHANGE

Regarding the 2011 prisoner exchange that led to the release of Yahya Sinwar—who succeeded Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh following his assassination in Iran—from an Israeli prison, Davutoğlu used the phrase, "We conducted the exchange."

Regarding Hamas's internal politics, Davutoğlu stated, "Khaled Mashal will manage the diplomacy. Sinwar becoming the leader of Hamas does not change the process."

Davutoğlu further claimed that the individuals within Hamas are Palestinian and that there are no foreign fighters. Davutoğlu said, "Hamas has no operations abroad."
