Harsh criticism of CHP from Ayşegül Doğan! She reacted to Özel's remarks
DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan reacted to CHP leader Özgür Özel's statement, 'There cannot be democracy in Diyarbakır and autocracy in Istanbul.'
DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan addressed several important issues, starting with the forest fires in Turkey, during a press conference held at the party headquarters. Stating that the fires breaking out across the country threaten the ecosystem, Doğan said, "More sensitive and responsible policies must be followed in the fight against forest fires."
RESOLUTION COMMISSION
Doğan also touched upon the work of the resolution process commission to be established in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). She stated that the commission would seek opinions from different segments of society regarding the decommissioning of weapons and legal regulations. However, stating that attempts are being made to distort the purpose of the commission, she said, "Such speculations are a reflection of Turkey's long-standing polarization."
REACTION TO ÖZEL'S REMARKS
Responding to CHP leader Özgür Özel's words, "There cannot be democracy in Diyarbakır and autocracy in Istanbul," Doğan drew attention to the lack of democracy in many regions of Turkey. Asking, "Who can claim that there is democracy in cities governed by trustees?" Doğan emphasized that they are fighting for an equal and fair life.
Doğan also addressed the PKK terrorist organization's decision to lay down arms, stating that this historic opportunity must be evaluated with seriousness and courage. She added, "If we cannot discuss problems courageously, how can we move forward in a common struggle?"
Finally, Doğan expressed that society's expectation for justice must be met and that forces must unite. "Democracy and the right to life are everyone's right. Therefore, the commission to be established in Parliament should also be approached with this perspective," she said.
