Harsh criticism of the government from İmamoğlu! 'The nation no longer trusts them'

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor and CHP presidential candidate hopeful Ekrem İmamoğlu addressed citizens in Erzincan, where he arrived following his speech in Diyarbakır as part of his primary election campaign.

İmamoğlu began his speech with the words: "Dear people of Erzincan, my brothers and sisters from Erzurum, the land of the Dadas, my precious friends from our border city of Kars, from Ardahan, brave people of Bingöl, Ağrı, Iğdır, Tunceli, Malatya, Muş, and Elazığ... Hello!"

Highlights from İmamoğlu's speech are as follows:

"Neither the worker nor the businessperson has any hope left; they cannot see what lies ahead. Our nation does not trust this government.

"AS IF THEY ARE GIVING FROM THEIR OWN POCKET"

They begrudged the pensioner a thousand liras. They are arrogant as if they are taking it out of their own pockets and giving it! They have established a period of despotism. The merciless and broken system they have built has drained the marrow of the nation.

"WE DO NOT FIT IN THE SQUARES"

We will save our country from this nightmare. What does it matter if you don't provide a hall? We do not fit in the squares. The seat is now slipping from under them. Our nation is counting the days to get rid of this government. Those who turn their backs on the people will go. Those responsible for the mining disaster in İliç will be held accountable.

We will establish a brand new order. The nation will live without worrying about the future. When the ballot box arrives, everyone will get what they deserve. They want a Turkey without an opposition. The biggest obstacle to this plan is the CHP. They want to weaken the CHP with dirty campaigns. They have all caught 'Ekrem-aches'."
