Harsh response from Deniz Yücel to AKP figures: 'Did it strike a nerve?'

CHP Spokesperson Deniz Yücel had reacted harshly to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's words, "We come up against the CHP in cross-border operations," and his remark directed at the CHP, "The clown of global powers."

Yücel had said, "The real clown of global powers is the AKP government, which claims to be domestic and national but fills the country with millions of asylum seekers and fugitives, walks alongside the treacherous terrorist organization FETÖ when it suits them, and sits at the table with the separatist terrorist organization PKK when it suits them. And get this into your head, Mr. Erdoğan!"

Reactions came from AKP figures to Yücel's words. While AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik used the expression, "We leave those who use Ba'ath language alone with their dark worlds," Communications Director Fahrettin Altun said, "It is not your place to call our government, headed by Erdoğan, a clown."

YÜCEL: LET US REMIND YOU

CHP Spokesperson Deniz Yücel responded by tagging Çelik and Altun. Saying, "Let us remind you too," Yücel included the following statements:

"Those who think the AKP stands tall in foreign policy learned the truth years ago with the phrase 'don't sweep him down the drain, use him.' Many scandals were committed during this process, such as the motion process, the hooding of our soldiers, photos with baseball bats, letters with the message 'don't be a fool,' and the Pastor Brunson case...

Now you stand up and spout nonsense at the party founded by the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who achieved the greatest victory against imperialism. Give me a break...

We learned standing tall, diplomacy, and homeland defense 100 years ago. A political structure that belittles Turkishness, hates modernity, and tries to hand the region over to jihadist groups with a desire for Arabization cannot teach us a lesson in foreign policy. Especially the AKP, which hangs on every word of global capital, can never teach us!

Erdoğan will call the CHP, Turkey's leading party which received 38% of the votes in the elections, a 'Clown,' and when we respond and say the same to the AKP, it is not our place, is that so? What happened? Did it strike a nerve! Do not worry at all. Our people will also give the response at the ballot box to the 'Clown' expression Erdoğan used for our party that founded the Republic!"
