Harsh words from Ömer Çelik to Özgür Özel: 'Political bigotry'

AKP Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik criticized CHP Chairman Özgür Özel with harsh words. In a statement on his social media account, Çelik described Özel's remarks targeting certain national companies, cafes, and bookstores as incitement, stating that this constitutes "political bigotry."

Arguing that this attitude of Özel's leads to attacks, Çelik criticized the CHP leader's stance by saying, "This is why physical attacks are happening at these venues."

Reacting to Özgür Özel's recent statements, Çelik said, "The poor and harmful performance Özel has displayed for a week is complete irresponsibility and lack of control." Stating that the CHP leader should turn toward a more common-sense approach to politics, Çelik used the expression, "It has become urgent, first and foremost for Özgür Özel himself, to return from irresponsibility to common sense, and from lack of control to the seriousness of a statesman."

Ömer Çelik stated the following:

"Mr. Özgür Özel's attitude of targeting national companies, places where coffee is drunk and books are sold, is political bigotry. This is why physical attacks are happening at these venues. Özgür Özel's political fanaticism has made families, women, young people, and children sitting in book and coffee venues targets for provocateurs. Özgür Özel's irresponsibility has led to these venues becoming targets of provocateur violence.

Undoubtedly, the barbarism of those who resort to violence will not go unpunished before the law. Statements targeting book and coffee venues are nothing but political bigotry. If Özgür Özel does not correct his irresponsible statements, he will remain the instigator of the attacks carried out on places where books are sold and coffee is drunk."
