At the convention, which will begin at 10:00 at the Ankara Sports Hall, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, CHP Group Chairman Özgür Özel, former Party Assembly member Örsan Kunter Öymen, and former deputy İlhan Cihaner will compete for the CHP Chairmanship.

“We are waiting for everyone to come to Ankara in health and happiness,” Özel began, and continued as follows:

“Since the day I announced my candidacy, I first traveled to the provincial congresses one by one, but because there were many congresses on the same day, I later came to visit our delegates, you, and our administrators in the provinces I could not go to. We talked at length; there were even our members, party supporters, and your fellow citizens in front of the provincial buildings I visited. We addressed them first, then we talked together.”

“YOU HAVE MADE A DECISION OR ARE ABOUT TO”

“And now you have made a decision or are about to. It is Friday evening; at this time tomorrow, the votes will be counted. You will have cast your vote in the first ballot box of the Republic's second century. You will have decided which chairman will lead the Republican People's Party in the second century.

As I have said until today, I want to start a process where we can shape the second century of the Republic, where we can make our party the government in the second century of the Republic, where we will no longer be defeated, and where we will not settle for second place.”
