He had a polemic with Özgür Özel: Statement from Tanju Özcan, who was alleged to be joining the IYI Party!
A statement has come from Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan, who was alleged to be joining the IYI Party following his dispute with CHP leader Özgür Özel.
The CHP's decision to participate in a commission to be established in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) as part of its new opening process has sparked debate within the party.
While Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan expressed his reaction with the words, "We should not be a partner in the game orchestrated by the AK Party, DEM, and MHP evil alliance," CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stated in a live broadcast he attended, "Tanju has exceeded his limits."
"IF THE GODS WANT A SACRIFICE, DO NOT PUT YOURSELVES IN A DIFFICULT POSITION"
Making a statement following these words from Özel, Özcan had noted the following:
"As one of the first people to tell him that he would one day become Chairman, and as someone who has served at every level of the party, hearing the words 'he exceeded his limits' in response to my suggestion that 'we should not sit at the same table with evil partners' from a Chairman whom I have found successful until today, both surprised and saddened me. But I still want to trust your good intentions, not your decision. I hope I am wrong and you turn out to be right. On the other hand, if the gods want a sacrifice, do not put yourselves in a difficult position."
Following this polemic process, it was alleged that Tanju Özcan would resign from the CHP and join the IYI Party. A response to these allegations came from Özcan.
Özcan left a note saying "False information" under a post by a news page.
