In the incident that took place on August 13 last year, it was alleged that Mehmet Y. wrote a comment containing insults under a video featuring Ümit Özdağ. Upon Özdağ's complaint, a lawsuit was filed against Mehmet Y. for the crime of "insult via audio, written, or visual message."

In the final hearing of the case held at the Kayseri 12th Criminal Court of First Instance, the defendant Mehmet Y. claimed in his defense that his statements were not directed at Ümit Özdağ.
The presiding judge found Mehmet Y. guilty and sentenced him to a fine of 7,080 TL. However, considering that the defendant had no prior criminal record, it was decided to defer the announcement of the verdict.
