Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu shared the invitation showing that he was invited to the opening of the Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme rail system. Explaining that the Fatih Mayor sent the invitation via email, İmamoğlu said, "If the candidate is a polite person, he should come out and apologize."

In his speech there, İmamoğlu clarified the invitation controversy he had with the AKP's IMM candidate Murat Kurum.
Having previously announced that he was invited to the opening of the Sirkeci – Kazlıçeşme rail system, İmamoğlu responded to Kurum's words: "Because the Mayor does not live in Istanbul, he makes up imaginary invitations for himself. I was with our Minister of Infrastructure and Transport yesterday. No invitation was sent to him."
Sharing the invitation he received at the rally area, İmamoğlu said, "The Fatih Mayor sent the invitation via email."
Continuing his speech, İmamoğlu stated, "If the candidate is a polite person, he should come out and apologize."
