He revealed the major trap in electricity bills: Here is the big game being played on citizens!

CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyılmaz stated that the AKP will launch a new practice regarding electricity bills and warned consumers against the regulation that will begin in 2026.

In a statement on his social media account, Yavuzyılmaz pointed out that with a new decision to be taken by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), electricity bills will be higher starting from 2026. Accordingly, residential subscribers whose electricity consumption in 2025 exceeds 3 thousand kilowatt-hours and whose annual bill exceeds 8 thousand TL will be removed from the fixed-price tariff starting in 2026. These subscribers will be included in the variable price tariff, where the market clearing price applies.

BEWARE OF HIGH BILLS!

Yavuzyılmaz gave the following example: “Currently, the monthly electricity bill for a residential subscriber consuming 250 kilowatt-hours is 662 TL. However, in 2026, the same subscriber's bill will rise to 1483 TL. This means an increase of 124 percent. A bill of 973 TL is expected to rise to 2137 TL, which means an increase of 120 percent. A bill of 1128 TL is estimated to rise to 2462 TL, which means a 118 percent hike.”

WHAT SHOULD BE DONE?

Yavuzyılmaz stated that in order to prevent these high bills, citizens need to reduce their electricity consumption in October, November, and December. He emphasized that those who want to keep their total electricity bills below 8 thousand TL at the end of 2025 must take measures to reach a consumption level below 3 thousand kilowatt-hours.

CHP's Yavuzyılmaz called on citizens to be careful about this issue and to be prepared for the new regulation, saying, "The way to escape this trap in the AKP's electricity bills is to keep your spending under control and consume less energy!"
