HKP Fatih candidate Bütün withdraws in favor of CHP candidate Mahir Polat

The statement issued by the HKP regarding the matter included the following expressions:

"We are withdrawing our Fatih Mayoral Candidate Kerim Bütün from the election in favor of CHP Candidate Mahir Polat.

As the Halkın Kurtuluş Partisi, we consider the AKP government to be the 'Disaster of the Century,' brought to the head of the Republic of Turkey by the US, UK, and Israel to implement the 'Greater Middle East and North Africa Project (BOP).'

Within the scope of this project, the task of the 'AKP-ites' is to destroy the Secular Republic, to transform Turkey into a fascist religious state similar to Taliban-ruled Afghanistan, which they call 'Moderate Islam,' that is, to make it a country governed by Sharia. And furthermore, in accordance with the BOP, which means a New Treaty of Sèvres, it is to divide Turkey into three parts.

Naturally, ensuring Israel's security is also a part of this project. Indeed, in Israel's recent 'Gaza Genocide,' far from cutting off trade with Israel, trade has been increased by twenty percent through the 'little ships' of Tayyip's and Milyar Ali Yıldırım's sons, and through Tayyip's five- or seven-member companies. Reactions to this disgrace have now begun to come even from the AKP base.

Therefore, getting rid of this 'Disaster of the Century' AKP government is the most urgent task for democrats, socialists, and communists. For this reason, 3-4 months before the March 31 Local Elections, our Chairman Nurullah Efe Ankut had announced our stance without leaving any room for ambiguity. Our decision was as follows:

We will not field candidates in provinces and districts where the votes of the CHP and AKP are neck-and-neck, and we will support CHP candidates. In contrast, we will compete with our own candidates in provinces and districts where it is certain that the AKP or the CHP will win.

We will maintain this principled stance, which is not based on any bargaining, meetings, or horse-trading, until the end.

However, a different situation has developed in Istanbul's Fatih District. In Fatih, which has always been considered an AKP stronghold, a neck-and-neck situation has emerged over time. In line with our aforementioned principle decision, withdrawing our Fatih Mayoral Candidate in favor of CHP's candidate Mahir Polat became a necessity of our principle.

We are withdrawing the candidacy of our Istanbul Fatih District Mayoral Candidate Kerim Bütün in favor of Mahir Polat, with the full consensus of our candidate himself.

Our votes are for CHP Candidate Mahir Polat.

Announced to all our members and our People."
