İmamoğlu announces 2025 achievements!

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor and CHP's imprisoned presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu emphasized in a statement made via social media that 2025 was a year of service for Istanbul. İmamoğlu expressed that despite the difficulties encountered, the İBB has signed off on major projects and significant developments have been recorded in Istanbul.

“THE YEAR 2025 WAS FULL OF SERVICE”

İmamoğlu stated that despite the lawlessness faced throughout 2025, the arrests of bureaucrats, and the economic crisis, the services provided and projects realized in Istanbul hold great value for the people of Istanbul. In his post, congratulating all his employees and supporters, İmamoğlu said, "The year 2025, for our Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality; despite all the unlawful practices, the arrests of our bureaucrats based on secret witness testimonies, and the never-ending economic crisis, was full of service. I congratulate all my colleagues and greet them with love."

ACHIEVEMENTS OF 2025

İmamoğlu listed the main achievements realized throughout 2025 as follows:

URBAN TRANSFORMATION AND HOUSING INVESTMENTS

We completed 3 projects and delivered homes to the rightful owners.

We laid the foundations for 2 new urban transformation projects.

We are continuing construction work on 22 projects.

We carried out 311 contracts, 433 title deed transfers, and 107 key deliveries.

We provided rent and financial support to 4,313 rightful owners.

We hosted 5.4 million visitors in 49 museums.

We opened 2 new Istanbul Bookstores for service.

We brought 598 thousand spectators together with art at the City Theaters.

We opened the Turhan Selçuk Culture House.

We brought young people together with events through 'Koltuk Senin' (The Seat is Yours).

We organized 10,811 events at 280 locations and hosted 6,780,188 Istanbulites.

We opened the Filenin Sultanları (Sultans of the Net) Youth Center.

We brought 888 thousand people together with sports at 74 sports facilities.

We reached tens of thousands of children in sports schools.

We brought individuals with disabilities together with sports areas.

Over 166 million TL in donations were collected at the Istanbul Marathon.

We provided equipment support to amateur sports clubs.

We distributed over 14 million summer and winter seedlings in 207 neighborhoods across 16 districts.

We provided boat maintenance support to small-scale fishermen.

We took ancestral seeds under protection at the Büyükdere Atatürk Nursery.

We laid 363,753 tons of asphalt from Silivri to Tuzla.

We renovated 107 thousand m² of pedestrian areas.

We installed 42 thousand meters of guardrails.

We carried out maintenance work on 295 underpasses and overpasses.

We laid 466 km of water and wastewater lines.

We treated 1.4 billion m³ of wastewater.

Since 2019, we have reduced the loss-leakage rate to 18.63%.
