Imamoğlu issues sharp criticism over lowest pension statement

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is being held at Silivri Marmara Prison, made significant remarks on the social media platform X. Drawing attention with his comments on the economy, İmamoğlu specifically addressed the debates surrounding the lowest pension.

Imamoğlu criticized the government's economic management by stating, "Promises of an economic boom even after 23 years..." and pointed out the inadequacy of setting the lowest pension at 20,000 TL. "Once again, it is the citizens who are asked to be patient. Those who came to power with the promise of becoming one of the world's largest economies have ended their story in great disappointment," said İmamoğlu, noting that the current economic picture fails to meet expectations.

In the remainder of his post, İmamoğlu painted a hopeful picture and used the following expressions:

"But no one should lose hope. Prosperity and peace await us under the nation's government.

As long as there is justice! Justice is the foundation of the state. Only when we ensure justice will our economy truly soar."
